Physiological and behavioural adaptations of food intake by studying the neuroplasticity in the dorsal vagal complex (DVC) and the role of vagal efferent pathway, which could intervene in short-and long-term regulations.
In the DVC, we keep on determining cellular and molecular effectors of neuroplasticity (neural stem cells, neurogenesis control signals). We study effects of various short- and long-term adaptations of food intake behaviour on neuroplasticity effectors and physiological responses, and the eventual role of these effectors on food intake.
In the vagal afferences, we try to analyse peripheral integration of sensitive information related to food intake regulation and neuroimmune interactions, and the regulation of gastrointestinal functions by messengers which regulate food intake.
